Leading specialist networking distribution company, Duxbury Networking, has been appointed an HP Logistics Service Provider (LSP) and the sole Channel Development Partner (CDP) for HP with effect from 1 September 2003.
In terms of the appointments - which are applicable to markets in SA and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region - Duxbury will distribute and support HP`s ProCurve Networking range of hubs, switches and wireless networking products.
Duxbury Networking MD, Graham Duxbury, welcomed the appointment, saying the move complements his company`s sales and marketing strategy.
"HP is one of the very few global brands that needs no introduction," he says. "As a specialist networking distribution company, the HP offerings will complement our product and services portfolios.
"With our emphasis on the design and development of new-generation networking solutions, and HP`s focus on technology and functionality, we believe that a number of new doors will open for both HP and Duxbury," he notes.
Duxbury adds that the emergence of HP`s networking products from its ESG division into its own ProCurve Networking Business division is a clear indication of the level of importance HP now attaches to these offerings.
Louis Helmbold, ProCurve sales manager (English-speaking Africa) at HP, says: "Duxbury Networking has held a strong position in the local market for more than 15 years. This, together with the organisation`s ability to supply total solutions and extended product lines, provides a perfect complement to HP`s strategy.
"Our success as an organisation is measured on what we achieve together with our partners. With this new agreement in place we expect to increase our share of the networking market and raise HP`s profile in this key sector significantly," he adds.
