The HP Discover conference kicked off in a freezing Frankfurt this morning, with nearly 10 000 delegates from around the globe in attendance. The event runs from today till 6 December at the Messe Centre.

Keynote highlights include addresses by Meg Whitman, HP's president and CEO; Dave Donatelli, executive VP at HP; and Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO, co-founder and director of DreamWorks Animation.

Another highlight, the Discover Zone, which HP dubs as "the heartbeat" of the show, aims to be an area for conversation and investigation. Covering two floors at the Messe Frankfurt, attendees will have access to pavilions, demo theatres, kiosks, tours, the plenary main stage, and suchlike.

The zone allows delegates to engage with HP staff, partners, innovation and technology. "It will feature whiteboards, seating, and open gathering spaces for attendees to get their questions answered and solve problems with experts and colleagues. It's about two-way conversation, and is full of productivity tools and ways to get the very most out of your visit to Frankfurt," says HP

Other highlights include product zones, where delegates can see systems and people specific to technology topics with product demos, hardware, software, services, and expertise. In a similar way to the focus area of the Discover session tracks, pavilion topics align with known industry issues.

The solution pavilions will demonstrate how products and services work together to solve problems across various enterprises. Issues to be addressed include converged cloud, and risk management, as well as information optimisation.

In addition, the innovation theatre will give attendees access to the latest innovations from HP business leaders and key partners. Delegates will also learn what's new and different in enterprise hardware, software, and services in these 20-minute presentations.

Demo theatres will feature tech demonstrations and short talks related to specific enterprise business solutions. Influential technologists and engineering experts will share their knowledge in 20-minute presentations.

HP is also offering transformation workshops as well as interactive and collaborative experiences that allow delegates to spend a day with HP experts in subjects such as converged cloud, applications transformation, centre transformation, IT service management, mobility, information optimisation,

enterprise security, network transformation and others. HP says these workshops will help delegates meet their business and IT objectives.
