Cape Town-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM) provider, I-Soft Solutions, has expanded its presence in SA, following the opening of a Gauteng office and the appointment of a KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) distributor.

This will give the organisation representation in four of the country`s nine provinces, as it already has a head office in Cape Town and a branch in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape.

The company, a Progress partner, has a broad cross-section of high-level clients, such as Hertz, Swartland Boudienste, Cecil Nurse and National Car Rental.

"While I-Soft has had limited success in making advances into Gauteng and KZN in the past, the company`s increased representation should assist it in finally expanding properly into these areas," says Rick Parry, MD of Progress Software.

"I-Soft`s ERP and SCM solutions are based on the principles of understanding the `s business needs and tailoring its flexible application software to meet these requirements, so having a wider presence in the country can only be useful to both clients and the business itself."

Basil Sher - brother of I-Soft technical director Alan Sher - will head up the Gauteng office, while Ian Bannerman, who has been affiliated to Progress Software for several years, will be responsible for the KZN operation.

"Whenever a partner expands, it bodes well for Progress`s image and helps us to raise our profile nationwide, so this move will also help us to increase our penetration of the South African market," says Parry.
