IBM releases eDiscovery

IBM has introduced new enterprise content management (ECM) software, IBM eDiscovery, for its clients to meet legal discovery requirements, says ECM Connection.

The new IBM eDiscovery solution is expected to extend IBM's ECM software platform to enable organisations to proactively take control of electronically stored information across the enterprise

The new eDiscovery software integrates with IBM's auto-classification and records management technology to help IT departments manage information for and electronic discovery requests.

ECM shows growth drives IT

A recent survey from Forrester research shows that content management and portal services should witness high growth in 2009, says Computer Weekly.

It says the content management market has consistently underperformed the high expectations set for it and that even though the promise of ECM solutions has never really been delivered by the software provider.

Some organisations are beginning to use portals as their ad hoc ECM solution, and Forrester predicts that this trend will accelerate in 2009.

TechnologyOne gets ISV

ASX-listed software vendor, TechnologyOne, has acquired Brisbane-based ISV's OutcomeManager, says ARN Net.

The acquisition cost $500 000 initially with an additional $500 000 based on future earnings. It is expected to be earnings neutral over the next 12 months.

TechnologyOne executive chairman, Adrian Di Marco, said OutcomeManager would be fully integrated into its new parent company.
