IndigoCube partners with Ravenflow on business requirements

Johannesburg, 18 Sep 2009

IndigoCube, the internationally certified consulting, training and software provider, has formed a partnership with Ravenflow, a business requirements definition software company, to distribute its Raven software in South Africa.

IndigoCube specialises in application life cycle management (ALM) and emphasises helping customers adopt and improve agile software development, agile processes, business analysis, legacy modernisation and service level management.

“Business analysts are playing an increasingly important role in addressing the frustrations of the large miscommunication gap between IT and business,” says Themi Themistocleous, executive chairman of IndigoCube.

“This miscommunication has cost the industry billions of rands in failed, late or inadequate systems. Business analysts should produce requirements that actually address business needs and which can be used by IT to accurately produce the solutions required by the business. After a careful evaluation, we have selected Raven for improving the quality of business requirements specifications.”

IBM Rational has recognised both Ravenflow and IndigoCube for leadership in application development technology. IndigoCube won the "Top IBM Business Partner in Rational" award in 2008, and Ravenflow won the “Top ISV Partner” in 2009.

“IndigoCube has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to deliver total solutions to its customers' satisfaction,” says Susan Boers, president and CEO of Ravenflow. “Its experiences are reflected in its recognition as the top IBM Rational Partner in Africa. Its expertise in requirements was a key benefit in moving ahead with this partnership.”

IndigoCube was formed by a core of industry veterans, who have worked together in key executive positions and have been in the IT industry since 1979. The business is focused on providing solutions that require sophisticated software and hardware capable of integrating advanced business functionality with a company's existing core IT assets.

Ravenflow is widely known for its Raven product for business requirements definition. Business analysts and other team members can rapidly visualise and validate requirements, build team consensus, and produce clear specifications of their business process workflows, business use cases, and business application needs using Raven. Raven allows business people to describe their needs in plain English, then automatically identifies missing requirements while generating visual process and use case diagrams that all stakeholders can understand based on patented language processing technology. With its distinctive business-orientation and process-based approach to requirements definition, Raven is suited for use on both enterprise process improvement and application development projects.
