Ingram Micro SA has seen a second top-level resignation in two weeks, as CFO Craig Turnbull has quit and will leave the company in the middle of next month.
Turnbull's resignation comes after CEO Hansie Fourie said in mid-July he would be moving on from the company in September. The top-level resignations have happened just months after MB Technology said it would buy out Ingram Micro SA.
Ingram Micro SA was a joint venture between MB Technologies and New York Stock Exchange-listed Ingram Micro Incorporated. The venture was formed about three years ago, which marked Ingram Micro's entry into SA.
The local company and MB Technologies had been in a distribution arrangement since Ingram Micro's entry into SA. In May, MB Technologies said it would buy out the company for an undisclosed amount. The competition authorities have since sanctioned the deal.
Fourie yesterday told ITWeb that there was “nothing sinister” in Turnbull's resignation. He said the timing was “inopportune”, but Ingram Micro SA is a sound business and “doing better than ever before”.
Turnbull has been with Ingram Micro SA since its inception, said Fourie. Fourie has also been with the company for several years and was appointed MD in 2008. He said no more top management have left the company.
Fourie said MB Technologies would revisit Ingram Micro SA's long-term strategy, as it is time for the next evolution of growth.
