

Innovation Group South Africa has added new members to its management team. Vimal Jairam has been appointed as head of customer service, Pieter Smit as general manager for continuous improvement, and Drew Schnehage as commercial director.
The group says the appointments are in line with the group's on-going expansion strategy.
"We are pleased to welcome Jairam and Smit to the group," says Karin Kruger, operations director. "In line with our vision of 'Going Beyond', we are continuously looking for the right talent and industry experts to join our group and take our company to the next level. They are both seasoned professionals in their respective line of work and will add great value as we move our company to the next chapter of growth."
Jairam was previously business unit head at Merchants, as well as business improvement manager at Dimension data. He holds a Bachelor of Science - Computer Science from London Metropolitan University.
He hopes to bring his experience in contact centres to the company. "My focus will be on driving and enhancing customer service levels and leading teams to deliver a memorable customer journey."
Smith, in his position as general manager for continuous improvement, will focus on process improvement and driving sustainable business results. Smith has completed a practical project management certificate through Unisa.
Schnehage has been tasked with strategic and operational execution in sales and marketing, product, underwriting, pricing and policy admin, legal and compliance.
She currently serves as ambassador for the Insurance Institute of Gauteng and was previously on the South African Underwriting Managers Association council. She holds a National Diploma in Leadership development programme from GIBS.
"Her background in the financial services and insurance industry, and her proven track record in organisational growth will stand her in good stead as we evolve and grow our business," says Innovation Group MD Andries van Staden.
He adds the notable experience between the three will be beneficial to the group.
Innovation Group was founded in the UK in 1996 as Merlinace, and later became Innovation Group in 1999 with the acquisition of accident management company MotorCare.
The company has 3 300 staff located in various offices in Australia.
