Interactive security workshops

Johannesburg, 20 Apr 2010

Specialist distributor Duxbury Networking is to join forces with Alvarion, a leading vendor of WiMax and networked wireless broadband solutions, and TeleEye, a world-class supplier of remote visual management systems, to present two interactive security workshops, on 22 April in Cape Town, and 6 May in Johannesburg.

The events will focus on the role of CCTV technology, when used in conjunction with mobile data, VOIP, video and similar services, in mining, estate and street surveillance and similar applications.

“TeleEye makes use of telecommunication media to allow users to visually monitor and manage their remote business anywhere, anytime through broadband Internet, LAN, phone line and mobile network applications,” says Philip Smerkovitz, managing director of TeleEye.

Among the solutions showcased at the events will be the TeleEye MX series, a range of HD CCTV cameras, with new multi-stream compression technology capable of live video recording and multi-site viewing through the use of TeleEye's SureREC HD video recording and SureSIGHT integrated video management offerings.

According to Andy Robb, Duxbury Networking's chief technology officer, there is an emerging trend towards the convergence of physical security systems and information technology (IT) in line with the growing sophistication and availability of high-speed broadband networks to smaller organisations.

“Enhanced security - including physical security - is at the top of most companies' requirements. The two workshops we are hosting will allow visitors from both sides of the spectrum - those involved with security installations and IT infrastructure - to examine the latest designs and technological advances and gain hands-on experience related to their convergence,” he says.

Invitations to the events are available from Louise Parker at Duxbury Networking on (011) 351-9800.
