Telecommunication systems and solutions vendor Intracom Telecom Solutions has signed a agreement with Duxbury Networking, a leading South African specialist networking distributor.

The deal ensures Duxbury Networking's distribution of the Athens-based company's products in Southern Africa through its accredited and distributor network.

The partnership will also give Duxbury Networking another brand to add to its product portfolio while providing Intracom Telecom Solutions with access to a number of new dealer and reseller outlets throughout Southern Africa.

loannis Tenidis, marketing director at Intracom Telecom SA, says the added value created by Duxbury through its engineering skills and technical support infrastructure played an important role in confirming the deal.

"We will be relying on the Duxbury Networking engineers to assist Intracom Telecom to support our products in Southern Africa while interfacing with channel partners, accredited dealers and in the region," he says.

Duxbury Networking chief technology officer, Andy Robb, says Intracom Telecom has been the first to market with a number of ground-breaking and IP connectivity solutions, particularly in the point-to-point and point-to-multipoint microwave arena.

"Intracom Telecom products complement Duxbury's wireless product portfolio and are a perfect fit for the local marketplace.

"This is particularly true of the licensed out-door microwave frequency market where its technology is playing an increasingly important role in the backhaul of premium broadband and legacy access networks."

Intracom Telecom believes convergence technology is key to the future of IT and should be incorporated into every business.
