IT governance certificate offered
IT auditing organisation ISACA has introduced a new certificate that will enable employees involved in corporate governance to have their ability assessed, says Tech World.
The Certificate for the Governance of Enterprise IT will allow professionals to demonstrate their competence in a variety of skills, as well as displaying their ability to assess the contribution made by IT to an organisation while managing the risks associated with those IT systems.
Ron Hale, ISACA's director of information security practices, said the certification reflected a change in the way that IT was perceived within organisations: "IT is now an integral part of the business and not an additional service - and it's some of those compliance requirements that are forcing that transition."
IT governance strengthens board
IT Governance, the one-stop shop for books, tools, training and consultancy for governance, risk management and compliance, has appointed Steve Watkins to its board to oversee the rapid growth of its consultancy practice, according to PR Web.
Over the past three years, Watkins has played an instrumental role in the development of IT Governance's consultancy arm, which helps organisations to manage operational risks by achieving compliance and certification to best practice standards.
In addition to its acknowledged expertise in information security, IT Governance is increasingly called upon to advise in areas including data protection, business continuity and the management of diverse risks within the supply chain.
