IT Naledi Solutions recently celebrated its seventh birthday and concluded a year that saw significant growth in revenue and profit, as well as strategic changes to the profile of its business.
"We started back in January 2007 as a Unisys Accredited Customer Services Centre, with Unisys as our only client and an associated guaranteed annuity revenue stream," commented Hashiem Bardien, Sales and Marketing Director of IT Naledi Solutions.
"Nevertheless, even at that time, one of our strategic objectives was to increase our annuity revenue and the number of clients that we served, in order that we could drop our dependence on Unisys and drop their revenue contribution to less than 30% of our total business.
"Today, Unisys/BTG, the latter having taken over the Unisys SA operation a few years ago, accounts for only 20% of our business revenue; our customer base has grown and now includes organisations within the public sector; and annuity revenue makes up about 60% of our total income," continued Bardien. "In addition, we have expanded our premises and moved into ones that we now own; increased our headcount substantially; established several new relationships with international vendors; and created a dedicated cabling unit within the group.
"We continue to be an IT infrastructure services company that supplies and manages a diverse range of hardware and software solutions for large and medium organisations," concluded Bardien. "However, we are now financially stable and a genuinely independent 'one-stop shop' for organisations in that we are capable of handling and ensuring the resolutions to issues that are raised, regardless of whether they are telecommunications, applications or infrastructure/network related."
IT Naledi Solutions
IT Naledi Solutions is a South African IT infrastructure services company that supplies and manages a diverse range of hardware and software solutions for large and medium organisations. It engages with its clients to tailor IT services solutions that support their business objectives and meet their budgets. Its service delivery is built around four core beliefs: flexibility, accountability, customer focus and cost efficiency.
The company was spun out of Unisys South Africa in January 2007 when staff members, with over 200 years of collective IT experience between them, took over ownership and control of its Western Cape services divisions. It retains close links with Unisys and serves all its Western Cape clients.
IT Naledi is more than 70% black-owned and 75% of its board members are black, making it a true BEE company with an Empowerdex BEE Level 2 certification, which will either stay at this level with the recent BEE rating changes, or maybe even rise to a Level 1.
Although Western Cape-based, it serves clients throughout South and southern Africa, including Namibia, Botswana and Swaziland.
