National air carrier Kulula.com will next week unveil its revamped Web site, which will offer clients the opportunity to access specific portals to make use of the company's newly-branded products.

Kulula says the new portals will offer packages that range from flights to financial products. The domestic airliner hopes the new products will grow its annual R2 billion revenue from the Web site.

"We will be launching our new Web site on 2 September," says Comair joint-CEO Gidon Novick. He describes the new Web site as an "uncluttered" platform for Kulula.com to sell new services.

"We crammed a lot of products on the old Web site," says Novick. "Those peripheral products have been built up and we believe they are now distinct and we would like to sell them that way."

Novick notes the new Web site will have four portals that will lead Kulula's customers to specifically designed services within the Kulula.com brand. "Kulula.com now has dedicated flight, travel, financial and mobile packages for our 650 000 regular customers to choose from."

The national airline hopes to cross-sell its established services with its new products. Novick says Kulula.com generates most of its revenue through sales of flight and travel packages. "Yet we are now bundling products together and offering incentives for people to use our new services and, in the end, we want our customers to use at least two of our brands."

Novick says there are already incentives where customers can book tickets using the Kulula.com-branded credit card to purchase flights. "They will get 3% back and they will also earn Kulula Moola."

Kulula says it teamed up with Altech Autopage to launch a mobile Internet service that offers 3G packages that run on 24-month contracts. "We had the pilot phase six months ago and at this stage, we have signed on more than 100 000 subscribers to our 'Get connected for less' product."

The airline has also partnered with First National , Discovery Health, eBucks and Protea Hotels to offer consumers the extended range of Kulula-branded products.
