South African technology services company, Letsore has partnered with Delphix, becoming the official distributor of the brand's virtualisation software in Africa.
According to Drew Kennedy, business development chief for Letsore, the brand has been interested in a partnership with Delphix since 2011. "Letsore brings IT products and services that are unique and make a difference to South Africa and the rest of Africa. During our investigations into data management and data virtualisation in 2011, we investigated Delphix, and although the claims sounded too good to be true, we decided that Delphix had huge potential," Kennedy says.
"The costs and time required to approve, create, refresh and recover enterprise databases have a major impact on application development and operations," says Kennedy. "By virtualising the data within enterprise databases, Delphix eliminates the need for redundant processes and costs in enterprise application delivery."
He believes the Delphix software addresses the single largest source of inefficiency and inflexibility in the modern data centre by provisioning, managing and refreshing databases for business-critical applications. He also believes the software is unique to the market as it provisions virtual copies of the database, and is not just a backup and full replication product.
"Delphix enables agile data, transforming the economics of database and application management," he says. And the international database virtualisation company is doing well, partnering with the likes of SAP and Deloitte in 2012 and experiencing 225% growth in the same year.
Leading global organisations in industries spanning retail, finance and insurance use Delphix software because it dramatically reduces the time, cost and risk of rolling out a new application, says Kennedy, adding they have already introduced the product to many of their customers with positive results.
"With the introduction of Delphix by Letsore and its partners, companies will now be able to take advantage of the savings and efficiencies offered by using Delphix to virtualise Oracle and SQL databases. We provide first-line support and training on Delphix and will work with companies to explore ways to significantly exploit the opportunities offered by Delphix," Kennedy concludes.
