Acer is saying goodbye to its country manager for Southern Africa, Hans Swart, and is in his place welcoming back former SA MD, David Drummond.

In a media statement today, Acer said Swart had, after careful consideration, "decided to pursue his next career opportunity outside Acer". The multinational electronics company went on to laud Swart for his significant contribution to its success.

Drummond - local MD of Acer from 2003 to 2009 - will take up the position of country manager for Acer Southern Africa from 1 October.

"David has a long standing history with Acer and is a highly respected manager in the industry. He brings in-depth leadership from sales, expertise on the business in the region and a wealth of relationships."

Amin Mortazavi, vice president of Acer Middle East and Africa, says he believes Drummond will be a valuable addition to the local team. "I am confident that we can continue to strengthen our brand."
