Standard Bank now allows its clients to render their tax returns online through the SA Revenue Service's eFiling secure electronic tax return and submission service.
According to Standard Bank, eFiling is available as a link from its Business Online Web site.
The objective behind the design was ease of use and to ensure taxpayers can submit their tax returns and payments quickly and effortlessly. Taxpayers can also access various reports, tax calculators, tax documentation and other business documents.
"eFiling has been successfully implemented in several countries across the globe and now SA offers this service, which allows customers not only to submit their tax returns via the Internet, but, in conjunction with our online banking service, to also make secure tax payments online," says Magnus Taljaard, Standard Bank's director of Business Online.
By making the submission to SARS online, clients will be able to complete their monthly returns through eFiling and submit the payment via Business Online's Domestic Banking solution, benefiting from the convenience of an integrated online solution as well as the incentives offered by SARS for using the online service, says the bank.
eFiling facilitates the online submission of forms and related payments for Value-Added Tax (VAT), Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE), Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), Skills Development Levy (SDL), provisional tax (IRP6), requests for extensions and for tax directives.
The benefits of eFiling include: the ability to view all form-related correspondence with SARS; full payment and forms submission history online; due date reminders via e-mail tax forms and payment tracking; online confirmation of all transactions; and requests for extensions and tax directives.
