In a recent report by Forrester Research, Micromuse Inc., the leading provider of business and service assurance software, was evaluated among an elite group of Organic IT management vendors. The report, entitled Picking An Organic IT Management Vendor, by Laura Koetzle, cites Micromuse as a "Strong Performer" among Infrastructure Specialists and Applications-Centric Generalists. These findings were based on Micromuse`s current offering, strategy, and market presence.
As one of only seven influential vendors profiled by Forrester Research, Micromuse was noted for its strong Organic IT management vision and dominance in network device management. According to the report, Organic IT is defined as computing infrastructure built on cheap, redundant components that automatically share and manage enterprise computing resources, software, processors, storage and networks, across all applications within a datacenter.
"Many of the world`s largest and most successful organizations have adopted Micromuse`s Netcool solutions for industry-leading breadth of functionality, scalability and ease of use," said Mike Luetkemeyer, Micromuse`s interim CEO and Chief Financial Officer. "We are extremely pleased that Forrester has included Micromuse among the industry`s most influential leaders. This prestigious ranking reflects our continuing momentum in the realtime enterprise market, our customer satisfaction, the award-winning quality of our Netcool product family, and the strength of our corporate performance and strategic direction."
Forrester Research selected vendors according to product fit, customer success, and financial stability. The individual findings in the report are based on vendor strategy, market presence and current offering. According to the report, Micromuse received a top score of 5.0 in the following categories:
* Heterogeneity of servers/computing infrastructure
* Network device management
* Heterogeneity of networks
* Heterogeneity of storage gear
* Management share of revenue
* Geographic segmentation
This recognition follows a recent announcement, in which Micromuse was listed in the "Leaders" quadrant of a recent Gartner Inc. research report entitled, "Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Event Management, 2003." The report placed Micromuse ahead of many of the traditional enterprise management vendors, based on completeness of vision and ability to execute.
