Ndabuko IT Solutions has distanced itself from a controversial IT tender awarded recently by the Ekurhuleni metropolitan.

The company states it “has no involvement” in the Ekurhuleni ICT tender that is being probed by the metropolitan.

The tender made headlines last week when it emerged that the metro had overspent by as much as R100 million and that the tender was allegedly wrongfully awarded to TCM. Subsequently, TCM has welcomed a probe into the contract by the metro, and said it won the deal fair and square.

The Citizen newspaper stated a forensic report by Aurco claimed some metro staff members are silent partners in TCM-linked companies Meropa, Ndabuko and Saimax.

In a statement released by Ndabuko IT Solutions MD Muzi Dlamini, he says the company does not have any shareholder relations with any current or former Ekurhuleni metro staff members, executives or employees.

Dlamini adds that he owns the entire share capital of the company, and there are no silent shareholders or partners in Ndabuko.

“Ndabuko IT Solutions is not a 'post box' vendor. We run a legitimate business operation that employs full-time technical and managerial staff, and provides services to our clients on a daily basis.”

The company also has no relations with Saimax, and no involvement with Meropa outside of normal business transactions “that may, or may not, involve purchasing their residual , including unused office blocks,” he says.
