Duxbury Networking has launched three new high-capacity, broadband wireless connectivity products from its principal, Proxim, as part of its family of Tsunami-branded point-to-point wireless network bridges.
These are the Tsunami QuickBridge II outdoor bridge, and the Tsunami GX 32 and GX 90 Ethernet bridges.
"These products are licence-exempt due to their low power requirement and are targeted at service providers, government agencies, municipalities and enterprises of all sizes," says Graham Duxbury, CEO of Duxbury Networking.
He lists the products` key features as support for integrated voice and data connectivity and the elimination of the costs and delays associated with deploying traditional leased line and fibre-based solutions.
"The new Tsunami products address a wide range of applications including LAN and PBX extension, voice and data backhaul from remote points of presence [POPs], dedicated connections for high-capacity subscribers and redundancy between locations," he says.
"With integrated voice support, the new Tsunami solutions can extend voice services across campus networks and beyond, as legislation permits," he adds.
The Tsunami QuickBridge II Wireless Outdoor Bridges are fully user-installable wireless point-to-point bridges designed specifically for reliable long distance and low latency voice and data connectivity.
The QuickBridge II products gives customers a "hop in a box" solution combining two radios, integrated antennas, cables, mounting hardware and power supply, as well as complete installation software and audible configuration tools for quick and easy installation and set-up.
For comprehensive network management, the QuickBridge II combines full SNMP support with a Java-based management tool. In addition, the QuickBridge II delivers industry-leading reliability - up to 99.995% RF link reliability.
Finally, the QuickBridge II can provide significant price/performance improvements as compared to both T1 and leased DS3 circuits. With its cost savings and capacity that ranges from 26 to 54Mbps, the QuickBridge II can enable a variety of customer business plans and deliver exceptional ROI.
Tsunami.GX 32 and Tsunami.GX 90
The Tsunami.GX 32 + 2xT1/E1 delivers 16Mbps full-duplex capacity, at ranges over 64km for voice and data services, and features two integrated T1 or E1 interfaces for "channelised" voice traffic.
The Tsunami.GX 90 + 2xT1 offers DS-3 (45 Mbps) performance for distances over 15km and provides two integrated T1 interfaces operating in the less crowded 5.3GHz U-NII band.
Based on Proxim`s GX broadband wireless platform, the Tsunami.GX 32 and Tsunami.GX 90 deliver the industry`s highest licence-exempt output power (+23.5 dBm for 5.8GHz; +13dBm for 5.3GHz), embedded software tools to reduce deployment and management costs and a split-box architecture that allows for maximum flexibility in customers settings, enabling all-indoor or combination indoor and outdoor configurations.
