New spyware offering from Duxbury

Johannesburg, 17 Jun 2005

Top Layer Networks, in association with its South African distributor, Duxbury Networking, has released new anti-spyware and anti-virus functionality for the Attack Mitigator IPS 5500 family of intrusion prevention solutions.

The new features are said to provide increased levels of protection and performance to safeguard organisations from spyware and e-mail viruses.

"By providing spyware and virus protection directly within the IPS 5500, Top Layer helps stop new, emerging cyber threats while allowing users to meet regulatory compliance requirements over confidentiality of data," says Andy Robb, a technology specialist at Duxbury Networking.

"Because of widespread infections, spyware has clearly become a major issue for all enterprises and government organisations," he says. "By adding anti-spyware functionality directly into an in-line intrusion prevention solution, users are in the best position to ensure confidentiality of sensitive data records and intellectual property."

The new release of Attack Mitigator IPS 5500 is designed to protect against attacks in real-time with minimal interruption of legitimate traffic.

"Top Layer executes high performance, non-disruptive deep packet inspection and analysis coupled with intelligent blocking of attacks through TopFire second-generation ASIC technology and TopInspect Deep Packet Inspection," adds Robb.
