New system for US justice department

The US justice department is looking beyond technology while building its new litigation case management system, reports GCN.com.

Officials are going a step further by developing an enterprise architecture for the entire case management line of business.

By delineating the business processes, key elements and services provided by the programme, the department is taking the lead in the government's attempt to move enterprise architecture out of the chief information officer's shop and into the business owner's office.

Cisco, Rockwell collaborate

Rockwell Automation and Cisco are working together to help manufacturers achieve visibility, flexibility and collaboration through optimised network integration across the factory floor and throughout the enterprise, says Reliableplant.com.

Based on feedback from customers, the companies are collaborating on their common technology view, building reference architectures using standard networking technologies such as EtherNet/IP. They will also provide market education to enable people and process optimisation.

The collaboration will see manufacturers being provided with the guidance needed to facilitate plant floor and IT network integration in a manner that achieves secure connectivity through the use of EtherNet/IP technology.

Rogue Wave introduces service grid

Rogue Wave Software has released Rogue Wave HydraSCA, which it says is the first service grid for deploying high performance SOA applications based on the service component architecture (SCA) specification, reports eBizq.net.

This release allows developers to increase application performance and scalability, and reduce costs by taking full advantage of multi-core hardware, while preserving existing technology investments.
