The departure of co-founder and CEO, Lynda Odendaal, will not affect business, says Support Services (NSS).

Andre Odendaal, chairman and co-founder of NSS, says the company will focus on continuing her work in the ICT assurance management solutions company.

Lynda Odendaal resigned as CEO of NSS, a position she held since 2005, to focus on her thriving political career. At the newly-formed Congress of the People's inaugural congress, in Bloemfontein, on 16 December, the IT executive was elected second deputy president of the party.

Andre Odendaal will act as CEO in the short-term as the company searches for a replacement. He declined to comment on whether the company would look at any specific candidates to fill the vacant position.

He notes that Lynda Odendaal made significant contributions to the company and IT industry, saying: “Lynda has expanded the service management solutions that NSS provides, including the establishment of an Exin-accredited training and consulting division.” The first graduates of the Exin - ISO 20000 Foundation certificates came out in March 2008.

Andre Odendaal adds: “Under her leadership, the company expanded its base extensively. Lynda is very sincere about providing opportunities for young people and created an intern programme that has produced some very exciting new talent in the ICT industry.”

For the moment, he says, “our focus and objectives remain the same; namely to provide customers with ICT service management solutions that enable them to improve service delivery and service support in their own organisations.”

He adds the company will focus specifically on “the value of service management in the current economic climate”.
