Oldies travel free all over
Free bus travel for the over 60s has been rolled out across the UK today, allowing those with a pass to travel all over the country for free, says In The News.
Over 60s already receive free local travel on buses between 9.30am and 11pm on Monday to Friday and anytime on weekends and bank holidays.
The scheme has now been extended so the pass can be used all over the country, not just in the passenger's own local authority.

Smart cards get 16-bit secure MCUs
From Renesas Technology comes the RS45C, a secure MCU for smart cards requiring a high level of security, including ID cards and financial cards such as banking and credit cards, says EE Times India.
The RS45C is the first product to appear in the RS-4 series. The RS45C is built around the RS-4 CPU core, which has a 16-bit arithmetic unit and internal bus width.
Its maximum internal operating frequency is 20MHz, and it executes instructions in minimum one cycle, enabling it to run general-purpose OS.
