OpenWeb says now is the chance for Internet users to leave their current ISPs and sign up for its uncapped ADSL service, free until the end of May.

OpenWeb is offering free uncapped ADSL for the month of May, in a bid to win over users from other local Internet service providers (ISPs).

"If you would like to rid yourself of your current ISP, now is your chance," says OpenWeb, which is offering new customers free uncapped ADSL until the end of the month.

Those who sign up, says the ISP, will be billed "special pricing" from June. Prices range from R169 per month for 1Mbps uncapped ADSL, to R569 per month for 10Mbps uncapped ADSL.

OpenWeb says shaping will take place on downloads during peak periods, but will be significantly reduced - or completely removed - during quieter periods.

OpenWeb founder Keoma Wright says the ISP saw "huge demand" for free uncapped ADSL last month, as "many folks are unhappy with their current ISPs".

The latest promotion, says Wright, means "clients can join OpenWeb immediately and avoid paying for two ADSL accounts while they serve their notice with their old ISP".
