Naledi Pandor has been made home affairs minister after Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma's resignation.
Naledi Pandor has been made home affairs minister after Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma's resignation.

President Jacob Zuma today announced that science and technology minister Naledi Pandor will take over home affairs.

This comes after he yesterday said Pandor will fill the position in an acting capacity until a new minister is found.

Pandor is now minister of home affairs and her deputy at the Department of Sceicne and Technology Derek Hanekom will take over as minister.

""I congratulate Ms Pandor and Mr Hanekom on their appointments. They have distinguished themselves in their current portfolios and I am confident that they will do exceptionally well in their new responsibilities as well. I wish them all the best," said Zuma.

Former home affairs minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma resigned from her position after being elected chairperson of the African Union Commission.
