Partnership promotes computing solutions

Sequence and Global Automation Partners (GAP) have secured a strategic partnership designed to offer computer system integration and compliance solutions to the life sciences industry, according to Earth Times.

The partnership will combine the proven and IT engineering processes of GAP with the regulatory expertise of Sequence to effectively design, implement and validate computer systems used in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

“The benefits of this partnership will be seen by our companies, our clients and the patients we ultimately serve. This union will produce enhanced technological solutions, higher quality standards and an accelerated time to market for critical IT manufacturing applications,” says Mike Putnam, president of Sequence.

Expo to showcase CAM software

Esprit 2009, the newest version of computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM) software created by CAM industry provider DP Technology, will be on display at the 20th Design Engineering & Manufacturing Solutions Expo (DMS), reports MCADCafe.

DMS will take place from 24 to 26 June at Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan.

New this year to DMS is a special 'CAM zone', one of several new dedicated event areas, in which the capabilities of Esprit will be featured. Designed to address diverse machining needs related to design and solutions, this 20th edition of DMS is more inclusive of the latest technologies.

Solutions source book released

ScanSource POS and Barcoding has introduced the first in a series of print and books designed to help its solution provider community better understand business opportunities in specific vertical markets, states Channel Web.

The Solutions Source Book, which is the first of the books and available in the distributor's online resource centre, seeks to educates VARs on how their solutions can play in healthcare, retail, manufacturing, public sector and field mobility - all verticals that ScanSource sees as strong growth areas for point-of-service and barcoding solutions.

"It's not an in-your-face sales brochure," said Mark Morgan, ScanSource's vice-president of sales, in a Channelweb.com interview. "What we're trying to do is take the verticals that are showing growth and discuss solutions that stimulate thought.”
