Pentaho partnership brings real-time

Fresh off the Pentaho Summit held in California last week, SQLstream, Pentaho and SQL Power reveal a collaborative partnership to deliver actionable, affordable real-time (BI), reports Business Wire.

This solution will query, triage and analyse high-volume data feeds such as Twitter, on the wire, then deliver it via sub-second updates into an executive BI dashboard.

"Committed to open source and open standards, the SQLstream, Pentaho and SQL Power alliance will break down the barriers that have prevented business leaders from capitalising on their data," said Damian Black, CEO of SQLstream.

BI helps beat financial blues

IT organisations are increasingly turning to BI tools to retain their revenue growth at a time when budget constraints and economic conditions are impacting businesses, according to CXOToday.

As per the latest Aberdeen research report, Operational Business Intelligence, 82% of respondents are cutting budgets to some degree as a result of the recession.

In the present economic downturn, organisations are attempting to increase customer loyalty as customer relationship may be the only source of revenue that can be counted on, the report said.

Gadget brings BI to Google

PivotLink, a provider of BI solutions delivered via software-as-a-service, has teamed with Google and released the PivotLink Gadget to bring new BI capabilities to the enterprise and beyond, says Market Wire.

Debuting at the Google Campfire One event last week, the PivotLink Gadget uses Google Apps developer tools to bring secure, collaborative BI analytics to the Google environment.

PivotLink's technology allows Google Apps customers to configure custom BI dashboards within Google pages that display all the contextual information needed for decisions. From real-time business data to breaking news, businesspeople now have the power to mash-up, publish and share business and market information on demand, while ensuring their IT department's stringent security controls and data management best practices.
