Protecting sensitive data and corporate intellectual property has never been more relevant within the South African market. The ever-changing information risk and threat landscape is putting huge strain on businesses to secure their data. Over and above this, South African companies will soon have to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Bill, which will, according to a number of sources, soon be signed into law. This will place South African companies under a significant amount of pressure, as those that have not started efforts to comply with the looming Bill will only have a short period in which to do so.
Performanta, with its roots founded deeply within data security and the protection of information, recently formalised partnership agreements with two leading global security vendors. Performanta believes the addition of the new technologies to its portfolio will not only strengthen its existing offering, but also allow its customers to solve future risks and challenges they would not have been able to in the past.
Firstly, ForeScout, a leader within the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Network Access Control, will allow companies to address challenges that BYOD introduces into the organisation that cannot be addressed with mobile device management technologies. The strength of the solution allows customers to realise value from their respective investments within a very short timeframe while at the same time removes complexity that existed within previous generations of network access control technologies.
"Network access control has always been a problem area in the market and very few companies managed to deploy such solutions effectively," says Enlin Neveling, Performanta CTO. ForeScout is different and introduces a fresh approach to address this area."
Secondly, SafeNet, a leader within the Gartner Magic Quadrant for User Authentication, which is also known for leading technologies within the hardware security module and data encryption market, opens new opportunities for Performanta and its customers. SafeNet's data encryption offering for file servers, databases as well as virtual server encryption will allow Performanta's customers to secure systems and data within their own data centres, private clouds and public clouds.
