Pikimal unveils content management platform
Essentially, WebKite takes the concept behind Pikimal and repurposes it so that anyone can create a Web site, called “kites,” that ranks, prioritises or compares any item with an available data source.
“We're trying to help people create sites that help people make better decisions,” WebKite founder and CEO, Eric Silver, said in an interview. “We want to help people who share our philosophy and want their sites to be fact-based and transparent.”
Silver said the idea for WebKite came from the team's experiences while building Pikimal's product comparison platform. “We found that how people think about these decisions is a really valuable source of data, and a lot of times people would say they wanted the same capabilities on their own sites,” he said.
WebKite's allows clients to point them to their data sources, allowing WebKite to put together a site that gives people the tools to rank, prioritise, and compare things.
According to Market Watch, WebKite is able to help a site grow and achieve new heights by leveraging structured data in a way that wasn't possible before. Using a client's data, WebKite can create a flexible Web site that doubles as a search engine and a content management platform.
WebKite is built on a vast foundation of tools to help users see organic growth in their property, form a community around their data, and create a customised site that suits their brand.
“Before WebKite, if you wanted to put together a site which helped users to make decisions with data, you first needed to hire a team and work for months,” said Silver. “With WebKite, large companies are benefiting from faster implementations, while individuals are finally able to empower their data to help people."
As search becomes ubiquitous, creating a static site with images and words is no longer effective for leveraging content in a meaningful way, reports The Sacramento Bee.
WebKite sites create searchable pages that match semantic search queries, thus helping them stand out in search engine results. Additionally, WebKite dynamically responds to users' preferences by generating description text on the fly.
