Pilot Software's industry-leading back-of-house and front-of-house point of sale products have been included in the new three-year Diploma in Hospitality Management, offered by Paarl's The Hurst Campus.
The Hurst Campus has, since 1997, been recognised as the leading hospitality training school in South Africa, and is one of only 14 members of the Worldwide Alliance of the famous French Institut Paul Bocuse.
Hurst offers a choice of curricula focusing on chef training, culinary arts and hospitality management. Its teaching philosophy is based on the core value of 'a commitment to excellence'. Hurst has a team of highly qualified tutors who share their knowledge and many years of practical experience in the culinary arts, hospitality management and hotel management, along with informative lecturing, to prepare students for a successful career in the hospitality industry.
Pilot has provided all point of sale hardware and software required for the campus, and has made trainers and consultants available as required. In addition, Pilot's Customers module ensures a secure, cashless environment, and students' attendance is monitored by Pilot's fingerprint-based InTime module.
Says Glenn Miller, Pilot Software MD: "Pilot has been at the forefront of hospitality point of sale technology for over two decades, and partnering with The Hurst Campus is, for us, an absolute honour. Not only is this an endorsement of our product as an industry standard, but it allows us to support budding hospitality entrepreneurs from the get go. Teaching future industry leaders the importance of back-of-house controls and processes is, we believe, the greatest value we can add."
According to Graham Scholtz, The Hurst Campus General Manager: "With the campus' hunger to evolve, and desire to offer our students the most relevant and up-to-date courseware, it was imperative that we included point of sale training. We had to look no further than South Africa's leading point of sale system, Pilot Software. From our first meeting with Pilot's management, we knew we would have a long and prosperous working relationship. Pilot's team was instrumental in ensuring we were prepared for our 2014 intake. Our experience with the Pilot team has been excellent, and we have found them knowledgeable, friendly and always ready to assist."
Continues Scholtz: "For the first time in a campus environment, students are now able to interact with, and learn from, Pilot's integrated systems. Students have already started working with Pilot POS, and have found the system to be both user friendly and intuitive."
