PMForum named conference media

PMForum has reached an agreement with the Association for Project Management (APM) to act as "Media Partner" in support of APM's national project management conference in October 2007, according to PRLog.

The 2007 APM national project management conference, called "The Business of Projects", will be held at The Brewery conference centre in London on 30 and 31 October 2007.

According to David Pells, PMForum's president and managing editor: "APM is one of the world's oldest and foremost professional societies for project management. We are excited about working with them to publicise their first national project management conference. It is both an honour and an opportunity to create more visibility for both of our organisations."

DMO wins again

The Defence Materiel Organisation's (DMO) 'HMAS Westralia replacement project' has been named Project of the Year at the Australian Institute of Project Management Awards in Canberra, according to Epicos.

The Project Management Achievement Awards recognise excellence in all aspects of project management across Australia.

SEA 1654 Phase 2A also won the Defence category for excellence in project management.

Schilling Robotics recruits managers

Schilling Robotics has hired two new project managers, Christopher Legg and Adrian DeGroot, according to OilOnline.

As new members of Schilling's growing programme management team, they will help maintain the company's goals of quality, on-schedule performance, and customer satisfaction.

"Schilling is a forward-thinking, technology-driven company," says DeGroot. "This is what excites me about working here. With the high level of talent in engineering and production, there is no limit to what we can design and develop to work in harsh environments such as the ocean depths."
