Proxim, together with South African distributor Duxbury Networking, has introduced the following new additions to its well-known Tsunami product line:
1. Tsunami GX200+2T1/2E1 5.8GHz ISM Sys, low and high band
2. GX RFU 16QAM Spare 5.8 GHz ISM, low and high band
3. GX IDU Spare, ISU GX200 + 2x T1/E1
The Tsunami GX 200 low and high band 100Mbps full-duplex plus 2xT1/E1 radio system provides improved capacity, reliability and flexibility for the mobile operator transporting voice traffic.
With its split-box design and high system gain, operators have the flexibility to install the indoor unit and RF Unit indoors together, minimising maintenance costs associated with climbing towers.
Similarly, business enterprise customers will appreciate tower and rooftop deployment of the RF Unit enabling smaller antenna sizes and lower-cost cabling.
The Tsunami.GX 200 operates in the unlicensed 5.8GHz frequency band and exceeds the capacity of two DS-3 leased line circuits.
With data rates of 100Mbps full-duplex IP and 2xT1/E1 interfaces, it extends its reach over distances of 32km.
"Split-box design enables flexibility in installation and support. Additionally, it incorporates advanced diagnostics tools and standards-based management, and includes a two-year limited parts and labour warranty," comments a spokesperson at Duxbury Networking.
The GX RF Unit 16QAM 5.8GHz low and high band spare terminals similarly operate in the unlicensed 5.8GHz 100Mbps full-duplex range.
Acting as a spare RF unit for the Tsunami.GX 200, it mitigates network downtime in the event of a GX200 failure.
Advanced diagnostics tools and standards-based management is inclusive with the unit, and is additionally covered by a limited two-year parts and labour warranty.
The GX IDU (Indoor Unit) Spare Tsunami GX200=2x T1/E1, offers the same backup functionality as the GX RFU 16QAM with the distinct difference being optimised specifically for indoor use.
