Qrent expands across Africa

Johannesburg, 06 May 2014

Ten years after launching, Qrent, a division of asset rental specialist InnoVent, is seeing worldwide growth. According to CEO DJ Kumbula, this is as a result of increasing demand for specialised IT asset rental solutions in emerging markets as well as established ones.

"As organisations look to hire instead of purchasing essential equipment such as computers, printers copiers, LCD screens and projectors, the demand for Qrent's services has grown across the continent. Establishing branches in neighbouring countries has allowed us to better service our customers there, and we are already seeing growth in these regions as a result," he says.

Qrent has a strong presence in South Africa, with branches in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg, and has expanded its reach with offices in Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. In addition, the company has a branch in London to service its UK customers.

Kumbula says customers today realise that rental is a truly reliable and cost-effective way to access a range of the latest equipment for special company purposes. It's ideal for companies who need training equipment over a short period of time - from one day to 12 months - or for those looking to achieve the cost benefits of accessing the latest equipment without having to lay down huge Capex expenditure.

Qrent rentals include insurance and a full component swap out warranty. Short-term leasing of IT equipment gives customers the flexibility to conserve cash flow and at the same time, accurately budget their IT equipment and maintenance requirements. Longer-term rentals are ideal for those companies wanting to ensure their technology remains current. With Qrent, changes or upgrades to clients' equipment are done every three years to ensure that clients are using the latest technology.

"Our rich set of rental solutions and flexible rental plans allow us to cater for the varied needs of our customers," says Kumbula. "And while there are slightly different needs in different markets, we have found that our approach is effective in every country we operate in. We anticipate continued expansion both in Africa and abroad, especially as the leasing requirements of our customers continue to evolve and increase," concludes Kumbula.
