
Rockwell sets up PM team
Rockwell Automation has established a team of professional project managers to provide its customers with project delivery and management quality and consistency, says Robotics and Automation.
According to the company, each member of the team is now a full-time senior project manager and Project Management Institute certified. The team members are supervised and coordinated by an Australia-based project managers' office (PMO) manager.
“There is a push to ensure global consistency in the delivery of projects, and this is part of the PMO manager's role,” said Rockwell Automation systems and solutions business manager for the South Pacific, Paul Ponticello.
CMCS inks Sofcon PM deal
Collaboration, Management and Control Solutions (CMCS) Saudi Arabia, a provider of project portfolio management solutions, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Sofcon Group to offer project management solutions and services to all Sofcon's projects in the Middle East region, states Al-Bawaba.
Under the multi-million Saudi Riyal deal, CMCS will carry out project management maturity assessment, professional project management development, and Oracle Primavera project management software and collaboration software installation, training and implementation, among other key services.
Sofcon is enhancing its project management capacity as part of a broader E&PM efficiency build-up in preparation for a projected annual growth rate of 3.5% in the Middle East construction sector.
KPlato manages projects for free
KPlato is a project management tool that offers more features than many similar tools costing significantly more money, since KPlato is free, according to Ghacks.
The company was created with the intention of managing moderate to large projects using multiple resources, time constraints, and dependencies. KPlato features various Gantt charts, and tasks can be organised in different ways.
KPlato is part of the KOffice office suite.
