South African Oracle users will have a rare opportunity to spend two days deep diving into real-world challenges, solutions and best practice at this year's annual SA Oracle User Group (SAOUG) conference and expo.
The annual event, Connect 2014, is the premier gathering for members of the SAOUG, as well as Oracle users who are not SAOUG members and innovators in the Oracle and general ICT space. Connect 2014 Event Director Robert Walker says Oracle Connect traditionally attracts around 500 delegates each year.
"In line with feedback from the user community and delegates at previous events, this year's Connect 2014 has been refocused to be more user-driven, featuring more in-depth case studies, best practice guidelines, workshops and greater levels of interactivity," says Walker. The event has also been moved to an 'away location' - the stunning Champagne Sports Resort in the Drakensberg - to give delegates greater opportunities for focused networking and open dialogue. The two-day conference will be centred around an expo area featuring the most innovative new solutions to the local developer and IT professional's daily challenges.
Says Walker: "This is the Oracle user community's premier opportunity to network with local and international experts, Oracle VPs, key industry stakeholders and their peers, for insights and open dialogue. It is also an excellent opportunity for those who are not members of SAOUG to discover the benefits of being part of the user group, as well as delivering good business opportunities for participants."
Connect 2014's agenda has been compiled based on input from industry experts and the user group, to focus on the most topical issues affecting Oracle users today.
With a focus on highly interactive formats, the agenda includes live interviews of keynote speakers, panel discussions, and opportunities for delegates to present their burning questions to the experts. With event tracks including Database and Technology, Big Data and Business Analytics, Development and Business Intelligence, Database & SAP Infrastructure, Middleware and Storage, Enterprise Applications - SaaS, Applications - Oracle, and Enterprise Performance Management (Hyperion) Connect 2014 delivers value to the full spectrum of Oracle users and associated professionals. The deep insights to be delivered target professionals including CIOs, IT managers, developers, and database administrators, managers and analysts.
"We are confident people will walk away from Connect 2014 feeling their investment in attending was worthwhile. They will gain valuable knowledge and contacts, and end the year with fresh insights to consider implementing in 2015," says Walker.
