SAP unveils new product group
SAP is developing business user applications as a fourth product group that will take its place alongside NetWeaver, SAP`s Business Suite and Business ByDesign, according to eWeek.
During SAP`s Influencer Summit in Boston, on 4 and 5 December, executives attempted to explain the concept of business user applications - SAP`s next-generation applications that apparently weighed heavily in the company`s decision to shell out $6.8 billion for Business Objects.
SAP`s Business User Development group has already gone to market with two groups of applications - governance, risk and compliance (GRC) and corporate performance management (CPM) that it classifies as business user applications. SAP competes heavily with Oracle in the areas of GRC and CPM.
Qumas offers compliance suite

Hospital benefits from GRC
Saint Joseph`s Hospital has successfully implemented the Compliance 360 solution, Compliance 360 is a provider of GRC management software, according to PR-USA.net.
In late 2006, Saint Joseph`s Hospital identified a requirement to establish more comprehensive controls and enhance visibility around its revenue cycle operations.
The revenue cycle department has realised particular benefits from four key Compliance 360 capabilities: project management, surveys, meetings management, and enterprise risk management.
