Saudi Arabia seeks PM skills

Demand for workers equipped with solid project management skills has increased in the KSA following the government's announcement of a 16% increase in project spending to SAR 260 billion (R528.9 billion) in 2010, reports Al-Bawaba.

The substantial rise in project funding is part of governmental efforts to attain a 4.5% economic growth rate within the year.

Capacity building Saudi-based firms such as Collaboration, Management and Control Solutions (CMCS), a project portfolio management provider in the region, are turning to training to fill the skilled workforce demand. CMCS has introduced the first certified Oracle Primavera training programme recognised by OracleUniversity in the KSA to help develop project management talent across the country's project-driven industries.

Workgroups 2010 162.3 released

MetaCommunications has released the Workgroups 2010 Package 162.3 upgrade. Workgroups 2010 is a collaborative workflow and project management suite that now features built-in support for third-party document scanning and OCR solutions, says TMCnet.

This release includes a new technology for categorising and organising documents electronically and allowing users to simply convert traditional paper-based workflows into electronic ones.

Workgroups 2010 now includes support for most scanning and OCR solutions, including Nuance Paperport & OmniPage, SimpleSoftware's Simple OCR, Epson Scan, eCopy PaperWorks, and Microsoft Office Document Imaging.

MHz completes Times Broadcasting project

Megahertz (MHz) has successfully completed the design, engineering and build-out of four new HD-ready studios, a server-based newsroom, and a multi-channel playout master control room at the Times Group in Mumbai, India, states Media Mughals.

MHz has also provided the design consultancy for eight DSNG for the Times Group. These expansions have enabled the Times Group to introduce a number of new channels.

MHz provided its systems integration skills to support the build-out of the installation at the Times Group - from the initial stages of the system design and engineering planning through to project management services, product selection and commissioning.
