SDT celebrates 10 years of growth

SDT Financial Software Solutions is celebrating its 10th year of providing business solutions to the financial services industry in Africa and Australia. SDT was started with the belief that a service provider dedicated to understanding the business of clients in a niche market is able to provide a better service than a generalist.

"Our initial vision was to offer the skills, products and services to clients in the fast changing and competitive financial services market of the 21st century, that would assist them in refining their business processes while reducing costs," says Freda du Toit, director of SDT. "Our track record for providing financial services administration solutions speaks for itself. We have never seen one of our implementations fail, nor failed to complete a project and deliver the benefits required.

"Over the past decade we have been able to realise our vision by investing in research, continuously challenging and improving processes and business models while developing software building blocks that could enable our models. Our technological capacity now supports our drive to supply innovative systems, models and processes to the financial services sector. We currently service more than 20 clients across two continents, offering a full service from consulting, to implementation and long-term support."

SDT believes the value of software is found in the difference it makes in a business, both in terms of efficiencies as well as growth enablement. Therefore the company only hires technical professionals with experience in the financial services market. The company is also a Microsoft Certified Partner and part of its insurance value chain.

"We have taken a conservative approach to both the growth of our company and our commitments to customers," adds Du Toit. "We always ensure we deliver as promised (and never over promise) and as a result have seen SDT growing and prospering for a decade, irrespective of the state of the economy and the challenges faced by our clients and ourselves."

Over the next 10 years, Du Toit says SDT plans to grow its presence in the South African financial services market and deliver projects in 60% of the top companies, while also capitalising on the international opportunities presented by Microsoft and other partners. During the same period it will also make bigger strides into Africa as it assists the continent's leading financial services organisations to develop new, cost-effective and innovative business processes as a competitive advantage when competing in the global economy - supported by SDT software.
