SDT reinforces Microsoft partnership with Gold Partner certification

Johannesburg, 09 May 2006

SDT Financial Software Solutions has been awarded Microsoft Gold Partner certification for ISV/software solutions.

This was achieved after SDT successfully fulfilled Microsoft's requirements for:

* Proving its competency in the ISV/software solutions category;
* Subjecting the SDT Exergy software to an architectural review by Microsoft architects in the US;
* Ensuring a minimum number of employees are Microsoft Certified Professionals;
* Acquiring formal customer references;
* Verifying its solutions as compatible with the Microsoft technologies and platform; and
* Achieving the required level of qualifying partner points.

"Achieving Microsoft Gold Partner certification has allowed us to demonstrate our expertise, highlight our broad range of experience in the financial software market and guarantee a real world approach to the technology strategies and needs of our customers," says Freda du Toit, director of SDT. "It also affords us direct, 24-hour support from Microsoft, thereby strengthening our service capabilities."

Microsoft Gold Certified Partners are the elite Microsoft Business Partners who earn the highest customer endorsement. They have the knowledge, skills and commitment to help implement technology solutions that match exact business needs. Having met the programme requirements, they have demonstrated the most robust, efficient and scalable implementations of Microsoft technologies in customer deployments.

The Microsoft Partner Programme offers a single, integrated partnering framework that recognises an organisation's expertise and rewards it for the total impact it has in the technology marketplace. Achieving Gold Partner certification enables the organisation to build the closest working relationship with Microsoft to improve software offerings to its market. Additional benefits include personalised account engagement, the power of the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner brand, priority listing in Microsoft directories and free software licences.

"As a Microsoft Gold Certified ISV partner, SDT has increased access to Microsoft's support, services and marketing resources," says Bradley Hopkinson, small and medium solutions and partner group director at Microsoft. "This ensures it has strong competencies extended by Microsoft's support structures to build applications on top of Microsoft software. For customers, this means they can be more confident about purchasing third-party software. SDT's achievement of the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status is a good demonstration of its technical depth and capability in extending the value of Microsoft software."

Through its Insurance Value Chain initiative, Microsoft is integrating business value and architectural vision, enabling SDT to continue its journey toward becoming a preferred insurance software solutions provider, says Hennie Loubser, Microsoft EPG director.

Loubser continues: "Working with innovative customers and partners such as SDT, Microsoft is moving the industry from a segregated set of siloed, non-interoperating business processes to a streamlined set of integrated applications and workflows based on industry standards. Microsoft and SDT will work closely to ensure continued innovation and guarantee that customers are delighted with the performance of the partnership. It is of utmost importance to Microsoft that we continue to support partners such as SDT who deliver solutions in the industry and leverage our technology to the maximum benefit of their customers."
