"The new products deploy Smart switch technology as a low-cost Gigabit solution for providing Web-based management and critical quality of service features in a package for simplified LAN applications," says Paul Luff, country manager for SMC SA.
According to Luff, Gigabit technology is transforming the way businesses within the small office home office (SOHO) and small to mid-sized enterprise (SME) market manage and utilise their networking infrastructure.
He says there is a growing demand from small businesses to manage more in their environment, such as bandwidth allocation according to user needs, and Smart switches are delivering that capability without requiring highly-skilled users and sophisticated network installations.
Luff says Gigabit is a great example of a technology that SMC is tailoring and adapting for core markets in the SOHO, SME and enterprise markets.
"It can only help to cement our relationships with the channel partners who serve those sectors by catering for an important niche market, thereby completing their product set and providing more opportunities for adding value," says Luff.
