SMEs embrace mobility

Pan-European research by Ipsos MORI and Research In Motion (RIM) has revealed that SMEs across Europe boost their chances of winning business on the move by using mobile technology, says PC Mag.

The survey shows that 62% of European SME owners have won a piece of business because they were able to respond to prospects when on the move.

The responses from 900 SME owners showed that reacting to customer queries (42%) and communicating regularly with existing customers (21%) are the two most critical capabilities for maintaining good customer relationships.

SAP adoption high in Sri Lanka

According to the Daily Mirror, there is a high rate of IT adoption in SMEs in Sri Lanka.

Speaking at a media roundtable on 'SMEs on the fast track', SAP India SME VP Deb Deep Sengupta said many SMEs have adopted IT and that although they may not implement the entire suite offered by SAP, they apply "bits and pieces".

He noted that SAP's presence in Sri Lanka is significant, with potential in various fields ranging from consumer products and textiles to government entities.

Amadeus offers online booking tool

A white label self-booking tool for SMEs is being made available for use by UK business travel agencies, says Travel Mole.

Amadeus Business Travel Portal (UK) is said to help SME business travellers gain greater control over their travel spend, while enabling travellers to research and book policy-compliant trips.

The new tool provides price-led comparison displays and access to more than 95% of the world's scheduled airline seats.
