Johannesburg-based ACCPAC accounting software reseller and solutions provider Softline Lorge and Cape-based Tactec have formed a strategic alliance to maximise customer services and backup support capabilities within both companies.
The aim of the alliance is to share the complementary resource strengths of the companies on a regional basis. Both have clients situated throughout southern Africa and resource allocation is a critical component of their business operations.
[VIDEO]Softline Lorge MD Errol Wills says he has identified Tactec as an organisation with the same commitment to service excellence as Lorge.
"The strategic alliance with Tactec will enable us to deploy services more cost-effectively and quickly, without compromising quality, to our clients in the Cape region. In turn, Lorge`s infrastructure and resources will facilitate the same service and support provisions for Tactec`s clients in the north."
Jenny Harris, MD of Tactec, says the alliance and relationship goes deeper than resource sharing. "I see it as a commitment to service quality and business excellence. Our collaboration may begin as early as the pre-sales stage, where our respective knowledge and skills in vertical application solutions can be shared to the benefit of both companies and the client."

In terms of the alliance agreement, the Lorge and Tactec support desks will remain separate entities but will liaise and co-operate transparently for the most effective allocation of support skills and resources according to the client location.
"For example, if a client problem cannot be resolved telephonically and requires on-site attention, Cape customers of Lorge requesting support from Lorge in Johannesburg will receive on-site support services from Tactec resources following liaison between the two support desks and vice-versa," says Wills.
The agreement comes into effect on 15 August.
