Software AG improves webMethods
Software AG has released a new version of the webMethods Application Modernisation Suite, designed to help organisations create a stable and economical IT environment, reports Market Watch.
Both the Web Edition and SOA Edition of the suite incorporate new functionality aimed at increasing productivity and getting additional business value out of existing assets.

Dynamic Research awarded contract
IT and engineering firm Dynamics Research has won a $14.9 million Homeland Security contract to develop enterprise architecture for the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) division, states MassHighTech.
The contract came from the office of the ICE's CIO and was awarded to Kadix Systems, a subsidiary of Dynamics Research, on a one-year base period with four one-year options.
Under the contract, DRC will provide business engineering services, technical support, design and architectural support for ICE.
SOA enterprise report released
Research and Markets has added a report: "A Methodology for Designing Service-Oriented Applications" to its offerings, says Market Watch.
In his report, Cutter's enterprise architecture practice director Mike Rosen introduces an SOA-specific analysis and design methodology that combines SOA architecture, formal reference architecture, business process management, governance and architecture-driven design.
The report hopes to give companies a better understanding of SOA from an enterprise perspective and a set of requirements for achieving enterprise goals.
