Spirent Communications joins Micromuse Alliance Programme

Spirent Communications, a worldwide provider of integrated performance analysis and service assurance systems for next-generation network technologies, today announced it has begun collaboration with Micromuse through its Alliance Programme, a cooperative forum for pursuing business, technical and marketing opportunities through the development of integrated, viable solutions.

Spirent Communications will work with Micromuse, the leading provider of business and service assurance solutions, to develop an integrated solution that will enable joint customers to link network fault alarms directly to affected circuits and services helping to improve the speed and accuracy with which these network service providers identify and prioritise problems.

The integrated solution will combine two of Spirent`s leading Operations Support System (OSS) software solutions, REACT and Perform, with Micromuse`s Netcool suite to extend Netcool`s management scope and visibility of physical layer quality of service and performance metrics.

REACT will provide the physical-level transmission and logical-level protocol diagnostics. Perform will monitor the performance of the provider`s network circuits and their associated services by collecting, analysing and reporting on performance data from other OSSs and network elements.
