An exhibition showcasing advanced technology for the broadcast, media, entertainment, audio visual and communication industries in Africa will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre from 21 to 23 June.

The event, Media Tech Africa 2005, is organised by South Africa RAI.

"The event is organised for the industry, by the industry, and we are extremely pleased to report that the exhibition is 90% sold out since sales opened in November last year," says Simon Robinson, director at South Africa RAI.

The three-day event will offer an interactive platform for buyers and sellers to explore the latest technologies, see new product launches and take advantage of special offers.

Exhibitors include firms dealing with film and television, broadcast equipment, audio equipment, animation, , broadcasting, instruments, DJ equipment, lighting and staging, audio, satellite and signal distribution and communication equipment.

One of the key features will be the fourth Screen Africa Talent and Technology Conference, which will highlight the latest industry developments and the technologies behind them.

The event aims to reach directors, producers, editors, technicians and communication industry consultants and specialists.

"The previous Media Tech Africa exhibition, held in 2003, attracted 3 500 trade visitors, and we expect an increase in the attendance of South African industry professionals this year," says Robinson. Over 4 000 visitors are expected this year.
