TOGAF 8 reaches 5500

The number of people who have been certified for The Open Group Architecture Framework, TOGAF 8, has reached more than 5 500, says IT Online.

This reflects an increase of 230% compared to the number of TOGAF certified practitioners registered in 2007.

TOGAF is an industry-standard architecture framework that may be used freely by any organisation wanting to develop information systems architectures.

Troux wins contract

A major US-based manufacturer has chosen Troux Technologies' Strategic IT Planning software as the engine for driving its business planning initiatives, states Search by Headlines.

This deal increases the company's Troux investment to more than $2 million, and once again highlights the important strategic IT planning trends taking shape among the Global 2 000.

This business emphasises the focus on increasing IT economies of scale, increasing the speed and accuracy of planning cycles, and minimising the risks associated with business and IT transformation initiatives. Troux delivers this with software that unlocks the power of enterprise architecture.

Australia shows SOA growth

The service-oriented architecture (SOA) market in Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) will grow from an estimated A$221.3 million in 2006 to reach A$748 million by 2010, reports IDG.no.

This will represent a 36% compound annual growth rate between 2006 and 2010, according to Springboard Research.

"A/NZ is by far the largest SOA market in the APAC region and it is expected to continue its growth story," said Michael Barnes, VP for software research at Springboard Research.
