Truebiz helps SME business processes

Trenchant Business Solutions is to launch a software package aimed at helping the small and medium enterprise (SME) market with its business process management.

According to MD Poobie Naidoo, SME owners often have specialised skills, such as sales or operational skills, but they do not necessarily have a complete skills set, which can make it difficult to run a small business.

"Truebiz is a software package that takes a thin slice across all of the business processes that apply in big business and distils it into an easy to use package for the SME market," says Naidoo.

"SMEs often don`t have an accountant as such, usually they just have someone who types, which is what makes this product so useful, as it can generate the entire chain of a company needs, from a quote through to the invoice and the receipt."

He says the program provides a set of business document templates which are compatible with Pastel Accounting, and the software prompts the user through each phase of the process, so it is simple and easy to use.

"It is also a scalable technology, so it will work for any company, from a small operation to a medium-sized, growing business," he says.

"The next plan will be to 'verticalise` the product for specific markets - most processes are common to all businesses, so it will simply be a matter of tweaking it for specific industries."

He says the project, which he describes as being a package for the SME market, designed by an SME, has been developed over the past five years, and that he has spent the last six months debugging it.

"We are now at the point where we can begin to distribute it with confidence and Trenchant is seeking distributors and so we can take Truebiz nationwide," says Naidoo.

"My ultimate dream would be to see the Department of Trade and Industry and its support organisations acquiring our product to give out to SMEs in line with government`s attempts to help stimulate the SME sector."
