Verizon scores at awards

Verizon Business has received the 2008 Australia Frost & Sullivan Market Leadership Award for Managed Services, one of the analyst firm's annual Best Practice Awards, says Computer World.

The award acknowledges Verizon Business' leadership in identifying the growing trend towards security-as-a-service, as well as meeting increasing customer requirements for and privacy through Verizon's security services.

“Verizon Business has aligned its security offerings to meet the needs of the extended enterprise. Perhaps most significant of these is how to accurately assess and business risk in this borderless environment, and how to protect data as it travels in and out of the enterprise,” says John Karabin, regional VP for Verizon Business security solutions, Asia Pacific.

MetricStream releases audit solution

MetricStream, an enterprise-wide governance, risk and compliance and quality management solutions provider, is releasing a new internal audit management solution, according to PR USA.

The role of the chief audit executive and the internal audit function is emerging as pivotal, during the current financial crisis, as it supports the greater board and its committees by independently assessing the effectiveness of companies' system of internal controls and compliance with statutory, legal and regulatory requirements.

A statement from MetricStream says internal auditors also need to closely collaborate with internal and external legal advisors, risk control units and operational teams on investigations into major control issues and areas of improvement.

RCM&D deploys ProspX

Riggs, Counselman Michaels & Downes (RCM&D), a Business Insurance Top 100 company, is rolling out ProspX's risk management solution to simplify and improve sales collaboration and knowledge share across its organisation and partner network, reports dBusiness News.

“We wanted a simple solution that would allow our producers, account executives, and marketers to quickly and easily access the right people and information so that we can work smarter and more efficiently. Efficiency is critical to win and retain customer relationships,” says RCM&D senior VP Guy Phelan.

As a $500 billion (R5.1 trillion) a year market, the commercial insurance industry provides services for hundreds of thousands of customers worldwide. To improve the flow of business for these customers, ProspX has developed a collaborative online software as a service application platform designed to help commercial insurance agents, brokers and carriers accelerate the selling process.
