The company plans to continue enabling its partner ecosystem to thrive amid macro-environment trends, says VMware's Matthew Kibby.

VMware has introduced the Advantage+ reward programme for delivering VMware's solutions and services, including NSX, virtual SAN and AirWatch in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

"As a new incentive and reward programme, we are focusing on partners who deliver on our more innovative solutions and services," says Matthew Kibby, regional director at VMware Sub-Saharan Africa.

The programme will provide participating partners with increased upfront margins of up to 30% and auto-validation on deal registrations, says VMware.

Authorised corporate reseller, original equipment manufacturer, enterprise and premier level solutions provider partners are eligible to register for the programme, says Kibby.

He believes in today's business environment, every move a company makes either enables or disables its business - especially amid macro-environment trends. Kibby says VMware plans to continue enabling its ecosystem to thrive in this current trend.

Kibby points out public and private sector organisations are increasingly looking to VMware to help them run, manage, secure and connect their applications across all clouds and devices, with connectivity, security and visibility.

"VMware's partners now have a bigger opportunity to deliver this, with a broader portfolio of VMware products and services that move beyond core virtualisation.

"They are now being significantly rewarded financially and supported for driving sales in areas that are showing strong market momentum, including virtualised networking, storage networking, end-user computing, business and cloud management."

Competition is tight and sales cycles remain long - partners want to better protect the efforts they put into "courting" customers and training staff to be able to deliver on these opportunities, says Kibby.

The company plans to further enhance incentives with the goal of clearly and transparently rewarding partners that create a pipeline for VMware's technologies, while helping them protect their pre-sales investments, he adds.

VMware's ecosystem in EMEA totals 33 000 partners.
