Voters share opinions on soapbox
A format created by Social42 makes it possible for people to share opinions about the US election through its soapbox technology, reports Enewschannels.
Political-minded people can log on to the Web site and dial the phone number listed for either Barack Obama or John McCain.
The user then calls the appropriate number and leaves a message about the candidate; this message then converts into an audio clip that can be listened to via the Web site.
XStream tests identification system
XStream Systems has entered into a pilot programme with RDC to test the XT25 Material Identification System, a new technology that identifies the exact molecular structure of a medication inside an unopened package, states Pharmaceutical Online.
The purpose of the pilot project will be to determine whether the technology can best be used to test and identify potentially adulterated or counterfeit products.
“What makes the XT250 so practical is that by using this technology, the user can determine if a product inside a sealed package is in fact the medication referenced on the label,” said Alan Clock, senior VP of XStream.
LCD displays get thinner
NEC has developed a next-generation connection technology for the circuitry in large LCDs that will help make the displays thinner and smaller overall, reports Trading Markets.
NEC's technology reduces the amount of wiring by using a single wire to carry both the clock signal and the image data to the driver chips.
The connection technology also more than triples the speed of data transmission, so methods to improve image quality and reduce ghosting can be implemented without adding more wiring.
