WebLayers monitors WebSphere
WebLayers, a developer of software that helps to automate customers' governance initiatives, unveiled IT governance software aimed at ensuring customers' WebSphere MQ deployments are conducted in accordance with guidelines and best practices, reports IT Jungle.
WebLayer's new governors work by scanning the WebSphere MQ queues to determine whether they are in compliance with industry mandates and best practices.
In particular, the software analyses the way WebSphere MQ was set up, and whether it is vulnerable to security breaches or could accidentally transmit bad information.
Accenture ramps up risk management
Accenture has started a global risk management consulting service line to help companies better identify, manage, and mitigate risks and make greater strategic use of risk data and information to support their decision-making processes, says Finextra.
The new service line expands Accenture's risk-related services as market demand continues to increase in response to recent turbulence in the global economy.
The firm says the service will help companies more accurately and quickly identify and evaluate risk-adjusted business opportunities and help them extend their risk management function beyond compliance.
IT Governance expands info resource
IT Governance, a compliance provider, is now offering an improved and expanded online 'KnowledgeBank' resource, says 8020 Communications.
KnowledgeBank, a subscription service, contains electronic articles and downloadable papers to update and support anyone working in information security or IT governance. The resource is continually updated with documents written by the IT Governance team.
Early 2010 has already seen a range of fresh content added, including e-books, Webinar presentations, expert articles and technical briefing papers.
